Rambling On

Woo hoo the summer is finally here, it’s only nearly bloody October! So we really are getting the Indian Summer that we are promised nearly every year…

Sitting in my office, I can see the sun shining and I can hear it too! Not the sweet sound of song bird nor the children playing in the parks, no, I can hear engines, motorbike engines! Whizzing down the busy main road that our showroom is on.

Us British are renowned for making the most of the smallest bit of sunshine, stripping off at lunch and sitting in the sun, dipping into the cold British seas or having a BBQ at any given chance (me and my friends last night!) But us motorcyclists are no different, any glimpse of sunshine and the bike comes out. As my bike is my only mode of transport I don’t really have a choice in the matter, come rain or shine viagra soft tabs I’m on my bike but riding in the sun is a completely different experience.

I find myself on my ride to work on a cold and wet day just thinking about getting to work, getting in the warmth, nipping through every bit of traffic and finding the quickest route to work and trying to miss every set of traffic lights. But my ride to work in the sunshine is completely different, I take my time, really thinking about my riding, enjoying the time (even if it is through the city) I don’t find myself battling my way through traffic and thinking about getting to work. In fact I kind of almost want to continue past work and ride off into the country side!

So I urge you, get your bike out, go and enjoy this glorious bit of weather we’re having, because it really might be the last of it until next year!

I woke up this morning to heavy, grey and miserable looking clouds, within minutes of me waking up, the heavens opened and it began to pour it down. Today was to be my first day of riding in the rain. Joy. I’ve been pretty lucky not to get caught in any so far, has England really had a summer?! I’m shocked!
I must admit I don’t really have the correct clothing for wet weather riding, so I put my jeans on, big fur jacket and retro opened face helmet and set off. I might invest in the bad boy below:

This was not going to be pleasant but off to work I must go!
To be honest with you it wasn’t as bad as thought, but I could really notice the difference on the roads straight away, I felt a lot more wary turning corners and braking, oh and I couldn’t see very much, I’m still inventing some window wipers for glasses, I’ll be on Dragons Den soon. But people (mainly car drivers) just do not seem to be aware that rain should make a difference to how you drive or ride. No distance between each other, driving at stupid speeds and generally being blind to the obvious new obstacle of rain.
I turned up looking like drowned rat and I’m only just drying off now (it’s 3pm, I got to work at 9.30!)

It’s seems to be brightning up now though, which is good because there is a road trip planned to Wales this bank holiday. Where various stops will be made along the way to the many biker friendly cafes in Wales such as The Ponderosa or TheWelshBikers cafe. Wales is always a great place to ride, long winding isolated roads, amazing scenery but I can’t guarantee the weather! It is Wales after all!

Don’t forget if you’re out riding in the rain this weekend or in viagra online 25 mg the future to give your bike a good check over and make sure it’s fit for riding in these conditions. Even better, why don’t you come down to Fasttrack and get yourself a free inspection for peace of mind, have a free tea or coffee whilst you wait and check out our awesome range of bikes we’ve got in at the moment.

I’m sitting here all wrapped up like Boris Karloff in an Egyptian tomb trying desperately to stay warm and yet sunlight is streaming through the window from a picture-postcard blue sky and I hear the sound of bikes roaring past my window. Lots of bikes. It’s all a bit disconcerting to be honest. My body’s telling me it’s freezing and yet my eyes and ears tell me it’s a lovely sunny day…

It’s the sound of motorbikes which confuses me the most. Though it really shouldn’t. I’ve never been one to leave my bike in the garage just because it’s a bit chilly, heck I’ve ridden to work in the snow only to stop and find I couldn’t walk across the car park it was so icy and another time I caught hypothermia and almost died trying to visit my Mum in the middle of winter. In Yorkshire. So why does it surprise me to hear bikers riding past my window?

Because the majority of us think of winter as the domain of the car. We wrap our pride and joy up in the garage, plug in the Optimate and dream of the summer. And why do we do this? Because winter means cold. Winter buy discount cialis means snow. And Winter means salty, wet roads. The bikes which do venture out are often cheap winter hacks. Old ‘crossers, ratty 400’s or hard core mopeds, and it changes the sound of the traffic.

In the last few weeks however I’ve been hearing the return of the four cylinder roar and the bark of the throaty twins. Take a look around you if you’re stuck on a bus in the morning or caught up in traffic in your warm little tin box. There’s more and more of us taking to the roads and it bodes well for the Summer. It seems some of us feel that the Winter has already past and well, what can I say? Here comes the Spring!

Right I know this is viagra soft a blog not a forum but I thought I’d start some conversation going… The best bike I have owned so far… without doubt the Triumph Sprint ST 1050. Why I hear you ask….? Well it’s a true 160mph torque beast that does the same job with three cylinders that most other makes just about do with four. It’s not a racer, so don’t give me all the chat about CBR1000rr etc. You can’t even give me the Blackbird is better as they no longer make it… No, personally speaking I loved my ST because it did what it said on the tin.. Sports Touring!!
So come on guys and girls… what’s your favourite and why?
