MOT History. Previous 3 Years Mileage Now On Certificates!

As from the 18th November 2012 VOSA introduced the current and previous year’s mileage recorded by VOSA since MOT computerisation. We have scanned a recent M.O.T certificate as an example. For the purposes of this thread we have partially blanked the Test number, Registration and chassis number.

This is a very handy feature to have for a number of reasons.

1. The dates of the previous tests can show any extended periods of time the vehicle was off the road.

2. It highlights any discrepancies in the mileage – thankfully this is a problem more associated with the car trade and isn’t always a sign that the mileage has been knocked back. Speedometers aren’t perfect and can break so as a dealer we encourage our customers to keep a record of the previous mileage, and do so ourselves.

3. The difference in mileage can show regular use, or none at all, as you can see by the example this bike has had regular use with 3000-4000 miles a year.
